Before understanding what an Owner Builder is and what results the Cash Value Home Alliance program offers, it is not unusual to hear comparisons with a builder or a general contractor. A common question asked therefore is what is the cost per square foot?
Unless you are being quoted a price per sq ft, backed up with actually seeing a model of what the quote represents, how can you take it for real?
Are you in exact agreement with all the building materials, qualities, cabinets, countertops, floor tile, insulation, window manufacturer, window style and size, ceiling height, roof tiles, doors, carpeting, faucets, fixtures, appliances, etc., etc., that the price per sq ft represents?
Are your expectations, or what you envision in your house, the same as the builder's or general contractor's?
Are all costs, permits, site prep, financing, interest payments, etc., included in this price per sq ft?
Do you see why being quoted a price per sq ft at this stage of your project will simply lead to disappointment and disagreements?
